hadn't thought about that place for a long time. it was on a street in Freiburg called Sautierstrasse. the whole time i was there i told people where i lived and got a blank look. i said Sau - like a female pig - tier - the german word for animal. [this is a strange name for a street, i thought to myself, but it runs next to a state prison] the family i lived with in Münster told me that it's a French name, and how to say it. i felt foolish being told that i'd been saying the name of my street wrong for the past 4 or 5 months! - d it was also across the street from the state prison!

Hi! Me again! I wanted to know, while being in Europe on a teaching job, i'll have a visa for Germany, but I was wondering, as a canadian I need a visa to visit Prague, do I still need one even if it's in the E.U. and if so, I won't be able to get one once i'm in Germany, right?

You speak French, Jennifer! what does Sautier, in Sautierstrasse, actually mean? ahahahah yup, sounds funny to me! must admit to being ignorant about the Czech visa thing. why couldn't you get the visa in Germany? especially if have an Aufentaltserlaubnis for Germany?

hi! well for the visa, I know you can't get it at the border or anything. I don't know if I could actually apply for it in Germany, that's why I was asking the question!
Sautier.... sauter = jump Sautier, there is no exact word in english I can think of but it has to do with jumping, hard time explaining. It's not really a word we use commonly in our vocabulary, but rue du sautier is a pretty much common street name! Might be someone's name too that they gave the street name to! xoxo Jen
