Wow! Thanks alot!! I thought I'd be kicked out from the site asking questions about North America and not Europe! ;D
I'm not sure on where to go and what to do, but I'll definitely think about your advice!
As for Canada, for some strange reason I've always wanted to go there.. No offense, going to Canada is not strange, but since I've never been there and haven't had much contact with people or the country, I can't explain this "love" I have for that country! So hopefully I'll get there some day....

Ryanair/Easyjet were both the first. I think Ryanair had the lead, but Easyjet were the first to open mass market routes and to really drive down prices, start online booking etc.

I believe WestJet also copies the Southwest business model. Most of those airlines seem to be doing reasonably well in the current air travel business climate (although most are now adding fuel surcharges).
The budget airlines seem to do a good job of providing good service at reasonable prices, however they don't seem to be able to please all customers. I often watch "Airline" (Southwest) and "Airline UK (EasyJet) on A&E, and it's interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes.

I remember about 5 years ago, I was with my parents trying to get back to Miami airport and we ended up driving through what can only be described as a Ghetto- there was gang related graffiti everywhere, it wasn't particularly nice. Muvver, That ghetto was probably downtown Miami. ;D Really though, while gangs are still a problem down here, esp. in Miami, flying into Ft. Lauderdale is sometimes a cheaper (and always a much safer) plan. However, if you do plan on visiting Miami/Ft. LAuderdale, our Amtrak stations are in decent neighborhoods. As for Greyhound, I used to threaten my Mom that I'd take the Greyhound home if she didn't pick me up....I always had a ride from my Mom then. Greyhounds....just not nice... Doug

being from Dallas, i'm well aware that Southwest started the "low fare" airline craze many years ago. Southwest was an interesting airline - the Stewardesses, they used to call Flight Attendants Stewardesses, wore Hot Pants and they called Southwest the Love Airline, because they are based at Love Field (Dallas' longtime airport). I suspect the execs had a Hugh Heffner thing. that was back in the 70's. much has changed since then. not that i ever flew back then . . . i was starting elementery school, but the ads left an impression on this young boy's mind. - d You realise that Southwest was the model for Easyjet btw? Stelios copied their business strategy almost identically. In time other budget airlines copied Easyjet, so it could be said that Southwest started the budget airlines in Europe.

Trees and water, and sometimes mountains - what more could you want ? I feel really comfortable in Scandinavia myself. But one group of people that really seem to love Canada, particularly British Columbia, is Germans. They seem to have such an avid hunger for nature.

I often watch "Airline" (Southwest) and "Airline UK (EasyJet) on A&E, and it's interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes. Lol. I watch Airline (Easyjet) and Airline USA (Southwest) on ITV1. Also there's another UK program set in Heathrow airport called Airport - you can probably download it from Bittorrent, or failing that it's probably on BBC America. Frankfurt airport is another program as well that I've seen on UK Horizons (a BBC satellite channel) - it's pretty good as well. Ft Lauderdale is a bit of a problem for me, as fewer international operators use it. Also airfares are more expensive there (we normally pay around £600 (US$ 1100ish)/person return in the summer).
