From Galway wanted to do Cliffs and Connemara....maybe islands...not sure on that yet. If I can't get a tour bus to Cliffs, then I need to cut out a day in Galway and stay in Ennis I think. Really poor public transportation to that area this time of year though....or so LP. Rick Steves, and Eyewitness guides all tell me. How about staying in Doolin or Lindoosvarna? Aren't there places that open on Christmas there?

Thanks Nitsansh! I knew there was no bus on the 25th, and no train on 25 or 26.....did not realize no bus on 26th either! Appreciate the heads up indeed! I had indeed planned to be on the go on the 26th....further adjustments will be needed.
this trip is way too complicated! Maybe I'll just stay in England after all or beat it back to Scotland.

On Christmas festival you better stay in a big city rather than a rural area where virtually everything is shut up. If you're in Ireland, Dublin looks the best choice to spend Christmas... could you rearange your itinerary for that?

I surely agree on a big city for holidays...found that out last year. At present I had Galway on late 22nd through 26 (with plans to tour on 23 & 24 to Cliffs and Connemara) and then on to Dublin for New Years. Now find that tours in Galway not running then. So, either rent a car and do it myself, or start all over! Plus no way to get to Dublin on 26th without a car. There are several tours week after xmas from Dublin, so at least that part of the plan will/would work. BTW...by tours, I am speaking of Mad Maxx day tour sort of things.
Thanks again for heads up on bus.

i stand (sit?) corrected. i'd meant Tyrrhenian Sea side, as opposed to the Adriatic Sea side. please forgive my careless style.
that's why Homer is my pic, and "doh!!" is my signiture line. i make lots of mistakes, as Homer does. (Simpson, not the ancient poet)
