Camera?

Would bringing a nice digital camera be worth it? I am a very responsible person and I love photography but I'm not sure I should bring it....

It'll be fine. Just make sure that you are covered by insurance before you go (this is a common sense practice). On my last trip I had my camera, phone and some other stuff and it was all fine- I even managed to recharge it when I was on the road.

digital is the way to go. you can immediately tell if the idiot who took your picture cut off your head, or the top of the monument that you are standing in front of.

i took my main camera (dimage 7hi) with me and had no problem. I also brought a 50 watt power convertor and plug adapters for charging.

RoseyRae, travelling with a digital Camera seems to be an increasingly popular option for many people. However, travelling with digital is a bit different than travelling with a film Camera -- one has to take into account such things as charging Batteries, Plug Adaptors, Memory Cards, and how to store images when the Cards become full.

I'd go for the digital cam anytime.

What about the tripod? Is it a good idea to bring one if I plan to travel alone? (It's kinda small,light and fits easily into my bag) Will it be worth the extra pounds?

Digi cam all the way if you have one! Unless you're quite obsessed like Ging and I about roll films!
