there is only 2 store in my town that carry backpacks and the selection is limited. I found this one and it seems pretty nice : www.marmot.com/products/product.php?cat=packs&subcat=40&style_id=G2261I'm going for a 6 week trip to europe starting May 1st and want to get my pack now so i can try it out with all my stuff in it. it's a 50L , is that big enough?? Is it a good one? ~michelle~

marmot is genearlly a good brand from what i hear. what's important is that its comfortable for you to wear. 50L should be fine. i had a 60L and i'm sure in never had more than 50L in it. it also appears to have a detachable day pack whcih is great. basically if the pack feels good on your back and you can carry the weight than that's what's important.

tigerlilly, I'm not too familiar with Marmot products, but it looks like a good quality Pack. It appears from the link that there are two sizes in this particular model. Be sure you are properly fitted for torso size, and buy the appropriate model. Try it out fully loaded in the store, if possible.
One point to mention, is that top-loaders (such as the Marmot) are more difficult to secure while travelling. With panel-loaders the zippers can be locked, which to some extent is a minor deterrent to theft. From what I could see in the link, the Marmot also has a front access panel so this will make it more difficult to secure. It's not a big concern - many people travel with top-loaders - just something to keep in mind.
Good luck with your purchase. Hope the Pack works well for you. Happy travels!!!
