that boat from Stockholm shouldn't be black. if you are there in summer, you'd get 20-odd hours of sunlight each day

A pal from Sweden told me the weather was good that time of year. Is that mid summer, July/August??
Anyways... my plan is to get over there right at the beginning of May when school is finished. Want to avoid the crowds in July/August, and I don't know about the northern countries, but the South was too hot in June!

20-hours light in Stockholm? Not really... I was there in late July and the sun set before we left the archipelag... The longest days are in mid to late June... if that's important you should time your trip to June.

We were in Norway in early summer and had about 18 or 19 hours of daylight. It was creepy to have the sun set at around 11pm!

Nice choice, great book.
You know that if they update it, you can download the updates on the Lonely Planet site right?
Not that they have updated that once recently but if they do..

Yes, I'm pretty sure Rick Steve's does the same deal. I'll take a look around and see if Lonely Planet has updated... and I'll keep an eye out if they do too. btw... was reading through all the tips on Rick Steve's site (on my slooooow modem line) and it was a pain in the butt downloading all the pages and finding stuff. Anyways... for my own convenience I just grabbed everything and put together all the tips in one document that's all organized just for quick reference. If anyone else wants to download it I posted it here --> members.rogers.com/traveleurope/pdf/europe_travel_tips.pdf(I hope Rick Steves doesn't sue me or something ) It's pretty much most of the tips from the site, but saves me from logging on and searching out what I want everytime I want to see something. Hope you don't mind me posting that link Kim. Anyone who grabs it should realize that a lot of the info may be outdated and I'm sure you'll get more recent stuff here.
