Hello Meg! I think your destinations are great, but I think you may be jamming a little too many things in at once! For example, 2 days in Spain, that's quite hard considering there are tons of beautiful cities that need AT LEAST a day each! I think when we start planning, we are all like this, we want to see so much but we can't seem to have enough time to see it all! Your itinerary is good according to me, but I think you should cut out stuff a little and stay longer in each country, at least 2 days per city or else you will feel as if you are only travelling and have not actually seen anything! Also, have you calculated the travel time between each destination? This will eat up a lot of your time!
Well, good planning, I'm sure others will have good advice for you too! xoxox Jen

Hey Meg,
nice itinerary but remember Contiki do it by coach and pack a lot into a day's travel. Also when you read the "2 Nights per stopover" bit, take into account that this really means only one full day, so take what Jen said onboard and factor in a few extra nights in a couple of places. Check out some other postings for great suggestions on time and sights/cities that will fit nicely into your plans.
A couple of things on your itinerary: how were you planning on going from Rome to Brasov? (or did I miss something?). Travelling around eastern European countries will often require visas (depending on your passport). It's a long way to go to Spain for only a couple of days, so consider going for a few more days and to a few more cities down there. Hopfgarten is a beautiful but v small village, so depending on what you're looking for (it is gorgeous, but not a lot going on) you might consider Innsbruck (still in the Tirol and you can visit Hopfgarten for the day). I wouldn't bother with Zurich; do Luzern, Lauterbrunnen/Gimmelwald (thanks CT!), Engelberg and/or Bern instead.
Do check out the other posts for info, it might help with planning routes/times, etc and remember, it might look small and close together on a map, but it ain't!!!
