OK, my turn..
I work for the Federal Government here in Canada full-time, not all that mentally stimulating but nice people, nice pay and nice benefits. I plan on staying there until I have kids (in the next 2 yrs. maybe?) as they have a great maternity plan.
After that, who knows. Dream job would be something like owning my own hostel or writing and researching a guidebook.
In my spare time, I run guideforeurope (my baby), grudgingly run 4 miles a week and take a dance class. (My pilates teacher is preggers so I'm doing the dance instead right now)
Been with my dream man for 4 yrs. now and the best thing about our relationship is how much fun we have together. Like Ging says, if we survived travelling in Europe together for 7 months, we can do anything! ;D

What do I do?? Well, like your daughter Ging, I am a nursing student. I LOVE being in school and am excited about becoming a nurse. I am like a child in a toy store when I am at the hospital doing my clinical rotations - I have such a blast there running around, getting into everything! I want to make a difference and change the world - am I crazy or what!?!? After I take (and pass I hope!) the boards in June I am heading off on my first adventure in Europe for a few months. Before I have to come home and get a "real" job I would love to volunteer in India for one of Mother Teresas organizations. When I return from wherever I want to get a job at a major hospital in NY or Boston, where I can see lots of the gory stuff. I am totally into the action and excitement of trauma right now!! Hope this is enough off the topic for you and that you all don't think I am completely nuts!!!

Wow.. good for you! Although the gory stuff.. better you than me!! LOL I love the show Trauma in the ER but I watch it through my fingers!
I think being a medical reseacher would be interesting but I don't think I'm tough enough to deal with a job that dealt with bodily fluids-thank god there are people like you around!
I had to pee in a jar for 24 hrs (I know, I know-I'm sorry everyone, too much information!) and that was bad enough!

So you really want to know what I do eh. Well, I'm a full-time student and I'm taking computer studies. I do part-time work in the field when I'm not in school. I enjoy that type of work a little but I get bored pretty easily working at anything. My dream job would probably be to play professional hockey of some sort, perhaps div. 1 or 2 in europe or something, beats working a regular job. In my spare time I like to play hockey (lots), watch hockey, play sports, mess around on the computer and buy and sell things on ebay. When I finish school I'd like hang my diploma on the wall, win the lottery and retire. I'd also like to travel through northern europe at some point, when I get some $$$ and time.

Looks like we have another typical Canadian boy here... hockey, hockey, hockey!!
Have I mentioned my computer room is overtaken with hockey and other sports gear? (Not mine, of course!!) And man, that stuff can stink!!!!

My hockey stuff is only allowed in the basement! Oh, and it visits the washing machine at least 3 times a week. Computer room has about 20 sticks in it too and various jerseys.

One of his presents from me for Christmas was a new hockey bag-here I was thinking we would get rid of the old one. Ooooh no, it's just another storage place for more equipment!!
I don't mind the ice hockey stuff but in the summer when he plays roller hockey, now that stuff will kill you!!
The other night I noticed this funny smell and I go into the kitchen where he is melting a blade onto a stick on the stove. Is no place sacred? ;D I'm surprised the fire alarm didn't go off!!

I am sure the "gory" stuff will wear on me! You can only see so much of that kind of thing before it starts to make you terribly depressed I'm sure. Once I return from my trip I am going to take an EMT course and do that along with nursing. Medicine is such a wonderful field - I love it!!!!

My turn! I work with computers for a healthcare corporation. Yes, I have to wear a nice shirt and tie to work but if you see me on a day off, you would have not idea I have that kind of job. I like where I work because they are pretty laid back for an East cost company and corporation at that. I like what I do and enjoy it, but I don't think i will be doing this the rest of my life. For now it pays for my lifestyle and my traveling expenses. They even let me take a whole month off paid-vacation to go to europe, which is sort of un-heard of in the corporate world. So that is kind of cool.
My free time I spend it being creative. I am drummer and percusionist for about 15 years, so music is a big part of my life. I did have a band when I was younger and did the band bit for fun. Now its just a hobby type thing, but more often than not I get together with friends and play. I am also an independent/foreign films enthusiast and I am working on my first short film, but its long in the making. I also like photography and writting. Of course I have never pursue any of these hobbies on a make-money level. I do these things just for my own personal amusement so i cannot say wheather I am good or not. Not to sound pretentious or anything, really, I am just a dork with a lot of time. ;D

Love the part about you getting to take a month paid to go to Europe-damn, you are lucky!! I know what you mean, I like what I do too but I can't see myself doing it forever. Sometimes you gotta work so you can play! Thanks for posting that, Bara! Kim

And now it's my turn! Did post something about myself in the very early beginning of the boards, but it did need updating, so here it is: I'm a 28-year-old working girl, born and raised in the Netherlands. I took nursing school as well, and have worked as a community nurse during my studies in Health sciences. Now that I graduated, I work as an adviser and policy-maker for an organisation which specialises in geriatric care. They run three nursing homes altogether. My job consists of... well, about everything! My speciality seems to be the development and implementation of a quality system for the organisation, but I stick my nose (invited or uninvited) into lots of stuff going on. Quality improvement is always a good excuse for that! I moved to the south of the Netherlands a few months ago and I had been a good move. My first time living on my own and I love it! I have a great appartment in the centre of town, which is very nice. My hobbies: singing in two choirs, reading, hanging out with friends, watching ER, Trauma team.... ;D Who's next?

At least it explaines the quality of this board. I mean, what can go wrong with so many medical professionals in the same place! It might be that we, medics, nurses etc., are more eager to tell something about ourselves..... Cat
