Can't remember a longer period of....nothing. Has everyone left for Europe? ;D

I'm still here - wish I could leave for Europe.
Was trying to talk the boyfriend into another European trip but he wants to go to a few other places first.
He's open to going back to Europe first though, as long as he still gets to go to his other places at a later date, which is fine with me!

I'm still here too! I check the boards on a fairly (almost daily basis), but don't log in unless I have something I want to reply to. It looks likely that I will be taking my first ever trip to Europe in the summer of 2004 (if my financial projections are accurate - I may be desperate enough at that time to pull some funds out of an RSP if necessary!). I'm still not entirely sure which is the best time of year -- from what I've read, July & August are not the best with high temp's and hordes of tourists. I'm still working on the route planning (I will send my Itinerary to Rick Steves/ETBD for "fine tuning" as soon as I have a rough draft); also trying to become familiar with my new Digital Camera (being on vacation is NOT the time to learn!); and finally continuing with my Italian language lessons again in January (night school at the local college). Hopefully, all my arrangements will fall into place? Cheers!!!

I'm constantly thinking about the next trip. I'm also trying to figure out when I can financially justify it . My 12-year-old daughter said she'd prefer a rock concert with her favorite rock band to going on a trip to Europe, so I'm thinking maybe she isn't quite ready yet. I'd hate to drag someone along who wasn't super-keen (not to mention spending the money). Thus, my next trip might be by myself after all.

Ah WillTravel...and I go to sleep each night and wake each morning with thoughts of Italy and how can I get back there in the quickest time? ;D But Scotland would do too!

I've never been to Italy and that's probably my preferred next destination, particularly Florence! I'm reading Bella Tuscany at the moment. The book is interesting, but I'm not so sure I'd enjoy a rural, Italian lifestyle. On the other hand, the author appears to have sufficient disposable cash to smooth over the rough edges, which helps, and she and her husband always seem to be taking off on various daytrips and week-long trips to all manner of exciting destinations.

Well...you've been around here long enough to know my thoughts on Florence in particular and Tuscany region in general! ;D

I have indeed, and I hope I like it as much as you, particularly since I've wanted to visit Florence for at least 25 years or so!

Last night, a friend brought over some pictures of her summer trips. The European stops were done on a cruise that stopped at various ports:
England (countryside) Ireland (Cork) Scotland (Glasgow and an extra excursion) Norway (Bergen and countryside) Denmark (Copenhagen) Belgium (Brussels) Israel (Haifa, Jerusalem, and some lesser-known towns) England (London)
She's a fabulous photographer. These were such gorgeous pictures. Every location was very enticing.

Tempting, isn't it!
Two separate co-workers of mine are talking about going to Italy and it's killing me!
The one did a month through Turkey last year at this time.
I can't believe it's been a year since I've been back from Bangkok and Bali... I need to go somewhere again!!

I'm still here! It's just, well, you remember your first semester @ college, right? SOOO much to do all the time, plus being in NYC there is hardly any down time at all! ;D It sure is great here though. I just don't have time to write that much, but I am still checking the boards all the time.

Thinkin of Skiing in Austria next year and definitely Italy. Well back to the drawing board and all that pre planning that got me thru 12 months of saving. Thanks every one Kathy

Kathy,
Good to see you back and to hear you had a great time!
We'd love to have some of your photos in "Our Photo Gallery" (see button above). Haven't had any new ones in ages, it would be great to have some fresh ones!
