Thanks for all the good wishes everyone! ;D As for where the wedding will be . . . we're thinking Tulum, Mexico and not at an all-inclusive. That's partially because I'm not an AI kind of girl and partially so as to allow guests some flexibility in their accomodation. I would hate to make people feel bad because they couldn't afford to stay at a luxury resort. Especially since my friends would be able to come but not my relatives. Anywho - Tulum is about two hours south of Cancun and relatively undeveloped. Much of the area surrounding Tulum is a biosphere reserve so it's not only beautiful but free of masses of tourists. I'm hoping I'll be able to find my beach paradise and slice of Mexico in Tulum! We're heading down in June to do site inspections and we'll pick a date and an exact location when we come back. As for the relatives . . . the ones in the U.S. will be able to travel but it's unclear whether the ones from El Salvador will. Apparently the Mexican government is quite reticent to issue visas to Salvadorans. And the photographer . . . I've been known to stalk wedding photographer blogs like it's my full-time job! lol In fact the difficulty won't be finding an amazing one but instead it will be biting the bullet and paying the thousands of dollars it will cost to fly the amazing photographer down there! Truth be told though photography is the largest part of our budget. We hope to end up with drop dead gorgeous, knock your pants off, OW! I just fell of my chair kind of pictures! lol ;D

Truth be told though photography is the largest part of our budget. We hope to end up with drop dead gorgeous, knock your pants off, OW! I just fell of my chair kind of pictures! lol ;D Congrats! and on the photography-front there is one cheap way to have these kinds of pictures. Buy a couple of these cheapo cameras (the ones you buy as a cardbox camera that still have film inside), and leave them on the tables. The later pictures have been taken, the better the pictures. It's good fun trying to find out who made the shot, what you see, and who's in it.

1) Name: Kara 2) Height: does short count as a height? bc short. very short. 5'2...ish. 3) Occupation: Student, though i work for a fab historical organization with a large member base. I am part of the small team that takes care of our members, kind of like a concierge....sorta. lol 4) What do you do on Sundays? sleep in, do homework, play with my super cute baby niece Turtle. (she has a real name but she'll never hear me use it, lol) 5) What languages can you speak? English, and im fluent in Jibberish. Especially if i am either tired or drunk. 6) Who has had the most influence on you? hmmm...my parents. both were great people, but terrible parents. I loved them terribly, and can both thank them and blame them equally for making me the very strong person today because of a very unique and far from pleasant 'childhood'. 7) What's on your "To Do" list? spend a month backpacking europe (how i wandered upon the site ) is the top of the list. finish school, i have a very long list actually, and it is actually written down somewhere but I won't waste space here with it just yet. 8) Discribe your living situation: roommate who eats all my food and borrows money, and our two feline companions. mine is adorable. his eats people. 9) Previous Halloween costumes: standard witch a few years....beer wench complete with popping out cleavage to my chin, lol. ive yet to do it, but one year i want to wrap myself in tin foil and go as leftovers. 10) Your dream job: my best friend and i discussed rating international hotels for their star-worthiness as being up on the list, but aside from impossible jobs like that, I want to work in chemical and mental dependency rehab, not sure what part of that field but something there. Also, Hi all. I couldnt find a Newb thread so I just thought I'd hop in here.

Thanks for the welcome, Eagle. I know I'll be asking for help on and off until i leave, but I'm actually already planning it. i think i've got the basic idea down, and i have my dates set already for next April. I have gotten a lot of good info from lurking around here for months as a guest, plus lots of other web scouring over the years. The route I'm still working on, my travel buddy is only going the first 2 weeks w/me before he has to go home, so we are trying to plan so he sees all he can/wants in his two weeks while still allowing me to see all I want/can in my 4 weeks total. Right now, I'm super giddy this week because I've wanted to do this for years, and finally setting my dates and getting the OK from my boss makes it seem real for the first time. *squeee!*

Some points needed some up-dating:
1) Name: René Giesbertz (nothing changed)
2) Height: 174 cm (not grown, although in Spain I feel a lot taller!!!)
3) Occupation: IBM-er, in the Madrid ISC. (International Service Center)
4) What do you do on Sundays? On good days going to do something with friends (have a lunch together and a drink, go to a park, play football and sometimes just relax in the city.)
5) What languages can you speak? Dutch, English, German and Spanish. (still studying Spanish, so still improving on this one). I also speak the local dialect from my birthplace. (although some friends claim, I don't speak the real dialect anymore, and mix in other dialects from other villages)
6) Who has had the most influence on you? Ana Aparicio, mi amiga and now my flatmate, and my best friend from the Netherlands, who I know for half my life. (almost 17 years.)
7) What's on your "To Do" list? Too many things, maybe I should make a actual list. I would love to see a working volcano.
8) Discribe your living situation: Sharing a flat, with my friend, and an international exchange student.
9) Previous Halloween costumes: none. (don't think I am wrily bad ad englisch, and meen nun) - Last Halloween I flew back to Holland for the last 4 weeks, so I could say traveller, heading for the airport in the middle of the night.
10) Your dream job: Anything with the word retired, and millionaire would do. Not that I need to be a millionaire, but it would make live so much easier, wouldn't it? But bassplayer in a succesful band would also be an option. But I also see IBM, as a good opportunity to grow, I am pretty happy at the moment, as it comes to work.
