;D But as I told Kim...I understand shaving his back...but why did they have to shave his head??!! My son in law says he looks like some weird Franciscan monk!

LOL! I didn't even notice his head was shaved! Poor guy! Maybe they just wanted to balance out the front and the back? So they shaved the head and the back!! Who knows! Whatever their reasoning, it fixed his problem!

Our doggie does have a collie look to him, and people often think he is, but he's actually half-mutt, half-Sheltie . But he is the sweetest dog imaginable.

Thought I would offer one final update on the little fella...he had his 10 day post op vet visit Friday and they are quite pleased indeed. Said he is the quickest recovery patient they have had in a long time. He is still a bit wobbly at times, looks like he has stayed a bit too long in the pub, but is walking and even trying hard to lift his leg...although when he does he still invariably topples over. He still has a way to go even though to me he is looking wonderful indeed, but they feel sure he is eventually going to make a full recovery. The main thing they stressed is to continue to severely restrict his activity. Although it is exciting and he seems so well, he is still in a dangerous spot and as Dr. Aragon said...were he human, at 10 days post op he would likely still be in the bed. He wants to go and go and I have to reign him in. But, thanks so much to one and all for the support and great wishes! It's so nice to have a place to come and worry and vent. ging-

I can imagine how tough it is to keep his activity down, but I'm so glad to hear about Duncan doing well!
