Really, I've got about a year or so left of school. Soon as I get my degree, bye bye South Florida, hellooooooo Chicago! my condolences. South FL sounds so much more interesting than Chicago!

Not really. It's a grass is greener kind thing. I hate the constant heat, love the cold and snow (and yes, I have been places where the snow caused all sorts of problems). Plus hell, I've been to Chicago all sorts of times now, I should just move and get it done with! I dunno when the last time I went to the beach was...I've always said there are only 3 kinds of people with tans in SoFla: new residents (which won't last, you can only go to the beach so much), tourists, and models.

Sweet, I'd love to go to Chigaco. Once you move there, I'll come visit!

Thanks David! I said the same thing some manths back...who in the hell would want to move to Chicago!!!! Agree about the tan.....I was last at the beach sometime last year...as in 2004...and was never at a pool or water this entire year! I am likely whiter/paler than those who live in the far north! When you live here.....sigh....just fighting the traffic to get out to a very crowded stretch of sand crowded with folks turning more red by the moment....loses it's attractions. Don't hold your breath on a visit to ChiTown from Kim Doug!!!! She was so excited when I moved to Florida.....a place to stay and all that....you will note I am almost gone and she's yet to come!

South FL offers so much more than just beaches. the biggest draw for me would be the night life. i've read about the big Cuban population there. therefor lots of Afro-Cuban music! <i *LIKE* Afro-Cuban music!>
the weather reports out of Chi-town don't seem to a support tropical music culture.

yep....but I have been in NE FL! Trust me, there is not a raging nightlife in Jacksonville...although it surely is improving a great deal. Geographically, JAX is the largest city in the US....and with the Jags and last years Super Bowl is working hard to improve it's backwater image. I can think of many worse places to live, even though I am leaving. It's growing into a really nice town.

I'm usually in bed around 10 or so and up at about 6 every day. Even before deciding on being a teacher, I never went clubbing. I'm more of a food/movie/wander around kinda guy.

I think that if anyone can assure you that Patrick does in fact exist, it would be me! What can I say, I wish I could be around more. Actually, I wish I could go to Europe for a vacation, but my life has been extremely hectic the past year or so and time is something that I have trouble finding enough of! As for moderators, this is the easiest board to moderate I've ever seen in my life because everone is so helpful! It's like a big family here. So yeah, I am here... I guess you just have to be around at the right time to see me though, like a leprechaun, or a polkaroo

AWW, I'm sure with the right girl you could have a blast in sobe. I don't go clubbing anymore but did i use to!! I did some stupid things like all young people but i wouldn't trade that time for anything. But , hey to each's own, I hope you enjoy chicago. I was there once and loved it. Then only bad thing is obviously the weather, i don't think i could stand it. Sorry to see you go though, one less nice person in sofla
