So I go to the gym today after not going for a week, not because I didn't want to but because the class schedules were wacky with so many people on vacation. I was soo excited cuz I felt like a bum for not doing anything. And what happens? I find out that the best teacher ever has been fired!!! . Instead now this poor old woman auditioned for the job and her class stunk!! It was soooo boring and she had music from like 20 years ago and let me tell you, it wasn't even good music. I appreciate the classics and all. So like half the class walked out after a while, I stayed cuz I felt sorry for this woman, I mean she was trying her best. I barely broke a sweat though her class was so slow. Well after class some people went to talk to the manager and all to complain. It turns out he asked for too much money and they couldn't pay him or whatever. What they do pay though is ridiculous!! I stayed after for like half an hour talking to people and everyone was up in arms about this. This was like the best teacher!!! it's soo sad, his class was so much fun and you really got a good workout. Now i'm gonna have to find another class to do on tuesdays bah!!!!!!!!! I'm going to give this woman one more chance cuz people talked to her and told her we wanted newer songs with more interesting and fun choreography. boo!! this always happens cuz they pay the instructors so little , so the good ones always end up leaving. So, yeah that's my rant for the day...........

Stanncie, sorry to hear about the "change" at your gym class. Hope the "old woman" is able to change her routine a bit to appeal to a younger crowd (BTW, how "old" does she look?).
Hope it all works out for you.

Lol eagle she's not that old I guess, it's not really the age but the dated songs, she must be in her mid 40's I guess. whatever I'm still quite disturbed about the whole thing. I am exaggerating though when I say i'm depressed hahaha!! Thanks for your response though, you understand my obsession with the gym lol!

Hello I have an update for this , if anyone cares, and if you don't i'm still telling you I went to a different gym today to take a similar class. Well the teacher is a total b**ch but boy is her class good!!!!!!!!!!!! I sweat buckets and buckets. I find I sweat more now than I used to before, I don't know if this has to with age or what. Well the class is great but the drive is soo far. I guess I can make it somedays. I can put up with this girl's attitude since I'm at least getting a good workout.

I find I sweat more now than I used to before, I don't know if this has to with age or what. you're getting OLD, Sam!! or, it might be that you've become acclimated to sea level altitudes in SoFla. can't exploit that Andean lung capacity anymore! [actually, i have no idea where in Peru you're from]

Yes i'm aging rapidly David! Well david i was born in arequipa which is in the andes but i've lost my acclimation long ago. I would have to go back and live there for 4-5 months to get it back. I do love the mountain air though , as thin as it is. I really want to go to Peru this year but I don't know if I will be able to

I do love the mountain air though , as thin as it is. I really want to go to Peru this year but I don't know if I will be able to i've still got nearly 12 years on you! although not Peru by a long shot, you could visit America's mountains. Rocky Mountain National Park isn't too far of a drive from Denver. [with Southwest adding service to Denver again, it's *much* cheaper than a flight to Peru! ]

Arequipa is beautiful, and not just cuz I was born there I like it a million times more than Lima which is super dirty and ugly although it has nice colonial buildings and the like. Arequipa has nice clean air and the city is just soo tranquil.... aaah. It has three volcanoes one of which is still active. If you want to see pics and some more info go here www.infoperu.com/en/view.php?lang=en&p=61I have gone to rocky mountain national park, it's beautiful , I really loved it and it reminded me a little of my hometown but obviously is still very different

Sure you may ask David I left Arequipa when I was 3 and lived not far from it in a smaller city in southern Peru, I visited often , sometimes every weekend. When I was 9 my family moved to Lima, which is the capital of Peru. I have never really liked it there though. When I was 11 I moved to Miami with my mom and have lived here ever since.

My real name is samantha, kim an american sounding name, I guess my mom somehow knew David: Like all immigrants and even second generation immigrants I'm considered too american in Peru and too latin in the US, so you can't win. I'ts one of the main reasosn I love miami cuz most people are in the same boat and you get to feel a part of something at least . Also living in Miami it's a lot easier to keep some of the traditions alive since there are many peruvians as well as many latins and people from literally everywhere. Whenever I go to other states it's shocking to see the homogenous population. It's even unthinkable in Miami when you get a random group of people together than more than 3 people will be from the same country. Of course I'm speaking of Miami proper and not some of the suburban areas where you will encounter a more homogenous population but again i've never lived in the suburbs Yuck!

i understand the homogeneous population bit... i'm now living in quebec city which is fairly white and french. but i grew up in montreal which is extremely multicultural - i love it! 5 years ago (when i still lived in mtl) i went to the ben and jerry's festival in vermont and was shocked at the homogeneity of the place! i guess i'm too used to montreal. one of the reasons i'd like to leave quebec... i need more culture!
