Anyone else taking off of work in the middle of the day to meet some friends at the pub to watch the games?
I'm totally obsessed with the whole affair and regardless of how poorly the US is playing I'll go out to cheer them on yet again on Sat.
What's everyone's fav team? Predictions?

England is my favourite team. I like Holland as well though.
I'm not obsessed enough to skip work over it for preliminary games. Hockey on the other hand... I've skipped work for meaningless games.

Jules, I would've thought there would be guys out on the odd street corner selling them, but now that you mention it I haven't seen any. (not that I've really been looking though) My other guess would be any large sporting goods store is probably stocking a few. I've seen some people draping full size flags over their car hoods and trunks. Personally I think they're a little nuts ;D I've got a large english flag, but it's staying inside my house, not going on the car.

Well guys, i can tell you one thing, Im right here in the middle of the action, and its nuts! Everyone has disguises on, everybody paints themselves, everyone is drunk and happy, and everyone screams and honks their horns until 2 in the morning!
Especially when Germany won 2 nights ago lol
I am hoping for Germany to win the first round, just cause then my rail pass for germany gets to be a month longer heheh but then, i honestly dont care. I kind of take for germany but find them to be a little too confident, therefore i would like for a new team that has never taken part in this or never won to actually win!
xoxo Jen

Jules, we get to play the Portuguese Diving Squad next! Hopefully Figo doesn't headbutt any of our players in the face. What a douchebag. And anyone see the Australians get robbed? What a joke calling a penalty in the last ten seconds.

Disagree. Germany has been playing well and has a big advantage being the home team.
