As of 2006 these excellent cards are being phased out in Paris - can't get to the bottom of why, nor if they are going to be replaced with something similar.
If you have already purchased a card, or have one that hasn't been activated (written on) you can still use it, but again not sure for how much longer. They are no longer being printed and once they sell out that's it. If anyone is in Paris in the near future and can find out how long they will still be in use (museum info booths will be better than tourist info), please write a post.

they're really phasing out the museum pass? that sucks! i'm heading to paris in a week or so and was hoping to use that pass to see the museums. it would defiantely help my small budget. do you think they'll run out soon? how did you hear about this?

Not sure if this is the same pass that Madame T.H. is referring to???
Happy travels!!!

That's what I had read also - that there had been a switch to the 2-4-6 plan, but that the passes are still available for purchase.

Another website regarding the museum pass: www.parismuseumpass.fr/flash/hp_fr.htmlAlso, has anyone taken the time to see if it is actually a better deal to pay at each place with a student discount? I know it will vary based on how many places you actually visit, but just curious what the general trend was. If not, I’ll figure it out for my plans and let you know what I come up with.

i was in paris about a week ago and we bought the museum pass 2 days. it was definately worth the money. you can just skip the lines and head straight in. you can buy them at metro stations. but i would check the major ones like gare du nord or gare du l'est.
