Ok....no not really but a europe backpacker virgin. After liquidating all of my worldly goods at home here in Canada, I plan on taking an extended trip throughout Europe, something I should have done years ago but I am definately young at heart and obviously in a better financial situation than the average 20 year old.
Being completely green besides having family on Portugal and speaking the language I am looking for tips. I have no concrete plans but am anticipating entering into England because it's the cheapest airfare. Hey I said i'm in better financial situation but still want to do the hostel and economical way.
I would love to work and stay for quite some time if possible and would welcome all input..............thanks people!!

What are you into? Musuem? History? Nature? Etc. That could help us pinpoint some things to you! xoxo Jen

Hi Horacio,
I have no idea, where I can find 'bald ass prairie', but something tells me, that you might want to start to check how you get a visa, to stay longer in Europe, and be able to work. unless you would have a Portugese pasport, you need a permit (visa), if you want stay for more then 3 months.
What is the period, that you want to go, and how long would you stay? I guess that if you read a couple of the threads, you will be able to find the place you like.
Happy Planning.

To live for some time, Valencia in Spain is excellent. a very dynamic and energetic city, yet cosy and relaxed. I came here as a traveller like yourself and i havent left since. To get an idea see www.valenciavalencia.com , you will see what it has - pretty much everything

bono, fair enough you want to suggest Valencia (and any connections you may have to the website) but as this is the third (of many) Post you've made about the website and the city (it's a great city, don't get me wrong) your motives seem a little less than altruistic. I hope I'm wrong...

bono, to add to the comments from MadamTrashHeap, we appreciate any helpful advice we can get on the Boards. I'm certain that anyone travelling to Valencia would be grateful for any travel tips you can offer.
However, there is a strict rule here that no advert's are allowed. Something to keep in mind......
