Hey Ray I'm just considering a few options. I've had a look around and it seems to be pretty expensive to fly from Prague to Spain so do you think this is feasible if I'm willing to give up a full day to do it........ I'm flying into London and will spend 2 days there, was thinking of getting a round trip to Prague for about 4 days. Then either in the same day or the next morning flying to Spain from London for about 8-9 days. I believe you said it's only a 2 hour flight from London to Prague. I know with check in etc. it would be a long day at the airports but I think it might be worth it..... I want to see Prague so much! Kelly ps whats the time difference between London and Prague?

Hi Kelly,
If you are willing to go through this, I would definitely encourage you. It is only two hours by plane from London to Prague. Prague has the same time as Spain--both are one hour ahead of London.
EasyJet flies from London Stansted to Prague, and also from London Stansted to Bilbao, Spain (about 45 min. from San Sebastian!) so you might be able to swing something really convenient.
If you do decide to do this, keep in mind that on top of travel costs, Canadian citizens need a visa before coming to Prague. I felt really bad for two Canadians I met on the train recently coming from Dresden. They had a Eurrail pass and didn't realize they needed a visa and got escorted off the train at the border. I have never seen that happen before, and even though I was fine, it was painful.
If you end up coming to Prague, keep me posted. I would be more than happy to show you around. I may have a lot of time on my hands soon, as I might be getting laid off... that will likely be the next story in my journal if it happens.
Cheers, Ray

Thanks very much Ray I'm thinking that I can maybe pull that off..... I've spent 4 or 5 times longer on trains before so it can't be that bad. I've got lots to decide in the next week as this is all very tentative but I do have a flight on hold for a few days. I'm definitely aware of the visa requirements - it really surprises me to hear of people that don't realize this. I'll keep you posted ..... I wish it was sooner but if this works out the trip won't be until June. Although if you are still in Prague - a personal tour would be lovely ;D Hope things work out with your job! Kel
