Anyone brought a HD cam to europe? I intend to bring a 30gb JVC cam for my 3 months trip, but cant think of a better way as to store the video, other than buying an external dvd burner or laptop. Is it very costly to get it burn to dvd in the internet cafe? Pls advice.

how about one that uses disks? are you planning on buying one or do you already have one? if the latter, then look on craigslist.org and try to find an external hard drive that you can use while there (just hooking them up directly without having to use a laptop).
another thing would be to find someone there who has a laptop and give them 10 bucks and use their computer for 30 minutes to write the data onto a disk and start fresh. those are the only cheap ways i can think of.
best of luck.

Yeah, just go on the external drive. It's cheaper these days. Or may be you can buy a cheap laptop for the things you'd like to do with the images and videos you'll get. May be for editing, cd burning and stuff!
