A friend told me that some airlines let you have a certain amount of "free" stopovers on the way to your final destination. These tickets do exist and are often part of a round the world deal, although occasionally airlines offer stopovers on the way to or from your destination, as long as it's the same arrival and departure city. For this one, I'd make inquires with a travel agent, or perhaps with an airline (Qantas, Emirates) directly to see what they have on offer.

Also does anyone know if there are any cheap airlines that fly from Zagreb to Dubrovnik?

Ok I am an idiot it was right under my nose and I missed it! Easyjet!!! Oh there is just to much to take in.
Just fixing up The ITinerary now will post it next week when i've booked it :-)
