I absolutely LOVE Europe, Italy. I went on a tour in 2005 with EF Tours to Italy. It was amazing. I loved every part of it except the fact that I felt like I was running. We went everywhere. Ever since that trip, I have been DREAMING of going back, except to explore different countries. I am planning on going (with my boyfriend) after I graduate college in a 1 1/2 to 2 years(I like to plan ahead)
I would really like to rent an apartment(that away I could save on meals by cooking) for a short period of time. It would be for 2-3 weeks and of course on a budget. I would LOVE to visit London & Paris. When I was in Italy, I absolutely loved Florence & Venice. It would be awesome to go back so he could see these cities.
I thought about flying into London staying for 4-5 days, taking a cheap flight to Paris for another 4-5 days. Then I would want to (fly?) to florence for 2-3 days, then take a train? to Rome for about 5 days.
I am afraid that I'm not making the most out of this though. I want to cram everything in that I can, like Bruges, Brussels, Bern, Barcelona, and Venice, but I don't think that would be smart. We would be "running" the whole trip. I like the idea of a relaxed trip, where we can live like the natives for a few days. Does anyone have any suggestions?
What puzzles me is when to go? Should we go when its peak season and everything is priced high, or do we want to go in the when the travellers are heading back home and the prices are falling. I even thought about going next winter, when I'm on winter break from college because I'm not for sure if I can wait so long to go but then the downside to that would be that there would be a bit of attractions closed, and the weather would be fair. But, the prices would be more attractive and discounted.
I'm sorry for such a long post, but I just don't know what to do. I really want to take 3-4 months like some people on this board do, but I can't Well, any suggestions would be great! Thanks!
