If you are a quick sightseer than cut a day off in Venice. 2 days is about right for Venice (or in you case 3 nights.) In my opinion Munich and Vienna needs more time, and have more possibilities for daytrips when you get bored in the city itself. (Munich - the castles, Vienna - Bratislava)
For the places you selected in Spain, you are about right, just keep in mind that you need some travelling time between Madrid and Pamplona, and Pamplona and Barcelona. (and also check the daytrips to Toledo and Segovia, while you are in Madrid.)

Thanks, but I found it worked out anyway, because I found I can get an overnight train venice-munich, meaning I don't have to lose time in either

yeah I know but well i'll have plenty of other viewings of the alps so I think it'll be ok... and I've already flown from london-istanbul and got a great view of the alps there too!
