Two of my buddies and me are going Europe over winter break We get to Amsterdam on December 29th and we are there until the January 1st. Then to plan on going to Copenhagen and Stockholm till the 5 or 6th.
Then we want to do Prague and maybe Berlin or Munich in Germany from 6- 9th or 10th.
Then do u think we can do Rome, Paris, and maybe Barcelona or Madrid between 10th and 15th because we leave out of Amsterdam on saturday morning of Jan 16th...
We are taking Eurorail everywhere too
any advice would help

> Rome, Paris, and maybe Barcelona or Madrid between 10th and 15th because we leave out of Amsterdam on saturday morning of Jan 16th... In my opinion, this is not reasonable. Consider how long the train journeys will take. You can figure that out with www.bahn.de . You will have a bit of time to get off and on the trains, but not that much more than that. At any rate, if you are in Spain before flying back from Amsterdam you would probably want to get a flight back to Amsterdam at least the day before. The train would take forever. Prague + Berlin from Jan. 6-10 is certainly possible, although still rushed considering how much there is to see in those cities.

thanks for the info. yeah I didn't think we would have time for spain. But we would like to do Rome and Paris in that time span. There is just a lot of things to do in Rome so probably spend more time there. We will have just graduated college in decemeber and we don't know when we will make it back to Europe so we want to be able get as much in... We are going to Berlin and Prague so that we can party that weekend and see a little bit of the sites. Any info is greatly appreciated!

The most important thing is that you get back to Amsterdam in time for your flight - that is if you want to avoid a huge fee for missing it. I'd definitely try to arrive at least the day before, maybe two, in case there are strikes.

I think it must be possible to take a flight Rome - Amsterdam, cutting back the time of the train. If you go by train, I would check on a city/town in the middle to have a break.
If you go by train, and you would pass Cologne, make sure to get out of the train, and visit the Dom. It's just across the square in front of the trainstation, and a nice break.
