Okay, My sister and I are planning a trip to go backpacking in 2012 after I graduate. We've narrowed it down to quite a few places, but were wondering if you could give us any tips. Are there any places you highly recommend, think we should avoid, etc.
Any other tips and tricks are appreciated also.

It's a bit hard to give a good answer to your questions, without knowing what your interests are. Would you like the beach, parties, old cities, architecture, arts ... etc. I has a big impact on which town/sights would fit to you and your sister.

trippinsisters,
First of all, welcome to the Boards!
I have to agree with herrbert - it would really help to have some additional information not only on your interests and expectations but also the time frame, what kind of budget you're working with, where are you located, etc. What do you most want to see in Europe?
As this appears to be your first trip to Europe, my first suggestion would be to pre-read the Guidebook Europe Through The Back Door. That will provide lots of information on how to travel efficiently and inexpensively in Europe.
You might also check the travel channels on your local TV stations, as travel shows often provide lots of good ideas on places to visit. Depending on where you're located, have a look at Outdoor Life Network, Travel & Escape or the PBS stations in your area.
I'm sure the group here will have lots of tips once we have more information.
Cheers!

Hello Trippinsisters....!!!
I agree to Herrbert that it's very difficult to tell you where to visit or not, without knowing your area of interest...But still i will suggest some few nice places where you can plan to go....If you love adventure then you can visit Africa for "Wildlife Safari", if you love beaches then visit "Bali"(Thailand),if you love ancient places then visit "Egypt",etc...
With Regards, Andrew Benn.

In addition if you are planning for a romantic trip then Canada, Bangkok and Goa are also best places. These are best honeymoon destinations as well.
While traveling to get peace of mind it's fine to travel with annual travel insurance if you're a frequent traveler and travel often for any reason.
