I am just starting to think about going backpacking in Europe in a few years but after reading I'm wondering if me thinking that in 2 weeks we would be able to go to England, France, Spain, and Italy. This isn't official or anything just something I have always wanted to do, I'm just not sure if this is not pratical. Feel free to give advice on money saving tips and what are the important places to hit and such....thanks

baseballgurl109,
Welcome to the Boards! I have a few initial comments on your travel plans....
Trying to fit those four countries into a two week time frame is a bit ambitious, especially with Spain as it's somewhat distant from the other locations. It could be done by using a combination of budget flights and fast trains, but the planning would have to be very precise. Which cities in each of those countries are you planning to visit?
My first suggestion would be to have a look at the Guidebook Europe Through The Back Door, as it will help a lot with things like Itinerary planning, money issues (including "money saving tips") and especially rail skills.
Given the cost of flights to get to Europe, I'd suggest trying to stay for at least three weeks (more would be better). Staying in Hostels will keep the costs of your lodgings as low as possible, but you'll have to be prepared for "communal living" as the cheapest costs are for Dorm rooms. You can buy sandwich items at Deli's and smaller stores, rather than eating in restaurants.
In terms of "the important places to hit" you might get some good ideas by watching travel shows on TV. If you have a PBS station in your area, Travels In Europe is an awesome show and one that I watch as often as possible (even the re-runs).
If this is something that you've always wanted to do, go for it!!!
Good luck with your travel planning!
