Hi all, I've been reading this board for the past couple months and I think I'm ready to make an informed post. I'm going to Europe for 7.5 weeks and have the following itenerary: May 2nd - Arrive in Paris 2nd - 9th in Paris 10th - 14th in London 15th-20th in Amsterdam 21st - 26th in Paris 27th - June 2nd Barcelona 3rd - 7th Rome 8th - 12th Florence 13th - 18th Prague 19th - 22nd Paris (fly home on 22nd).
I have a friend in Paris so I will be staying with her, as far as "touristy stuff", I want to go to the big things but I'm not too partial to seeing every museum. I want to spend some quality time at the beach and partying. I was wondering what everyone thinks of this itenerary? Everything is totally flexible except for the Amsterdam trip (15-20th). I am travelling by train and I have a 15 day flexi-pass. Also, I've looked at the eurorail site, they don't have any schedueled times from Prague to Florence (or Rome), they also don't have any times from Nice to Barcelona (I'd like to go to Nice). Does this mean the trains don't run in between these locations and what should I do about this? Thanks a ton for any replies!

I'm confused on how I get from Florence to Prague, and how I get from Barcelona to Rome. Looking at www.raileurope.com/us/rail/fares_schedules/index.htm, I could go Florence-Zurich-Munich-Prague, but that seems like an exessive amount of transfers. Would it be better to go Florence-Paris-Prague? Also, to get to Rome should I go Barcelona-Paris-Rome? I must say, this is turning into a frustrating process... I wish I had a magic carpet that took me where I wanted when I wanted.

I suppose the best way to travel Barcelona->Roma is via Milano. For Firenze->Praha check 2 options: via Munchen or Wien.

CowTown, you're not from Ft Worth, are you? ;D
from Amsterdam, as you're spending much time in Paris as it is, you might want to add a side trip to Brugge, Belgium. although i've not been yet, i'd like to go!
also, one place in Italy which was a nice surprise for me: Sienna.
look into some cheap flights, too. they're often cheaper than trains! to Barcelona, to Rome, to Prague & back to Paris are journeys you might be better off flying.

Okay, so I've updated my itenerary. Does anyone have any more suggestions? Like I said, I'm flexible. I put in Frankfurt, but I'm not positive on that... what is the best city to visit in Germany (I'll only be going to one)?
May 2nd - Arrive in Paris 2nd - 7th in Paris (train to london) 8th - 12th in London (train to Paris) 12th-15th in Paris (train to Amsterdam) 15th-20th in Amsterdam (train to frankfurt) 21st-24th in Frankfurt (train to prague) 25th-30th in Prague (fly to florence) 31st - June 5th Florence (day trip to pisa) (train to rome) 6th - 11th Rome (fly to barcelona) 12th - 17th Barcelona (train to paris) 18th - 22nd Paris (fly home on 22nd).
I have friends flying into Paris on the 10th of May, so I want to spend some time with them in Paris, and then we are going to Amsterdam together. I figured I could take the train from London to Amsterdam, but then I would not be able to spend any time with them in Paris.

my 2¢, Vienna is a much more interesting city, if you plan to spend any time in one of these cities. - d IFor Firenze->Praha check 2 options: via Munchen or Wien.

I will have a eurorail pass though, so won't the train inbetween london-paris be included in that cost? Oh, and I'm from Calgary, not Ft. Worth.

don't know. think the pass just gives a reduction on the price on Eurostar. I will have a eurorail pass though, so won't the train inbetween london-paris be included in that cost? The Maple Leaf flag was a dead giveaway that you're not from Fort. Oh, and I'm from Calgary, not Ft. Worth.

Eurail passes are NOT valid in UK, but you get a reduced fare for the Eurostar to London (75US$ one way if I recall correctly). You might get a cheaper price if you buy a return ticket some time ahead.
