Hey guys! So, I think i've solved my extra ticket problem! One of my friends will meet me beginning of August in Germany (she will take my ticket!) and we will travel together for 2-3 weeks depending on her vacation time! So, we want to hit Scandinavia. Don't ask why, even we don't know! She wants Denmark, i'd like Norway or Sweden.. bla bla bla, basically, NO CLUE where to go except for Copenhagen! I'm looking in LP and all, but it doesn't tell me much of what I want to know. She will be in Munich/Nürnberg and I will be in Freiburg. We have to meet up at some point (Frankfurt, Cologne! somewhere where we will have to come back for my suitcase and our flight back, so ideally Frankfurt). Then, we are off for 2 or 2 and a half weeks, at most! So, I want to see natural wonders, with city spots not to forget! I really don't know where to start because transportation is kind of worrying me! I can't wait to hear about Ging's adventures, may inspire me! But in the mean time, can anyone help? xoxo Jen

i really enjoyed Stockholm. clean, beautiful, interesting. has an easy night train connection from Copenhagen.
have also heard wonderful things about Bergen, "Norway-in-a-nutshell." it's said to be beautiful, too.

That's what I've heard too!
I'm just afraid of trying to put in all the countries and being on the train more than usefull!
I mean, I want to see fjords, cities and all, but I don't want to do only travelling.
Anyone have an idea of a good itinerary?

you might find some useful info here: www.fjords.comoh, i'd intended Bergen OR Stockholm - not both of them. actually, you might 1. drop your bag & fly Frankfurt - Copenhagen & spend about 5 days 2. train to Bergen spend about 5 days 3. fly Bergen - Stockholm spend about 5 days 4. fly Stockholm - Frankfurt and collect your bag for your flight home. you might want to plan a layover for a day or two in Frankfurt area in case your flight from Stockholm is delayed. this will cost a few hundred euros, that might be an issue. but, any time in Scandinavia will be costly. - d

See, I thought Stockholm was OK but nothing special.
LOVED the Norway in a Nutshell tour, there is a short one and a long one - we took the long one. We did it out of Bergen which I'd highly recommend - you can also do it out of Oslo.
The train ride from Oslo to Bergen is very beautiful - the train even stops in the snowy mountains (even if it's not winter, there always seems to be snow) so you can take pictures. It's a longish ride but very pretty.

I'll check all this out, but the Nutshell thing looks so darn expensive, any tips?
