Ok I have just finished a very stressful college course so now I have got a few weeks off for the summer and need to chill out somewhere. I am normally a culture vulture and love city breaks but for this break I just want complete relaxation in a hot chilled out place possibly a beach break . Now because this is out of my normal remit I am a bit lost about where to go. Ideals are ;D On a budget so if I can't get cheap flights and hotel it has to be cheap on the ground ;D Good nightlife ;D Easy to get to from UK (maximum of 4hrs flight) ;D Good weather (hey I live in the UK I need my sun fix!) I know the time of year is against me for a complete bargin but I just what suggestions of which areas to look at. I have heard Croatia is a nice place to chill out - any reviews out there? Any suggestion appreciated ;D

I don't know much about this sort of thing, but what about a charter flight + hotel package? The UK seems to have a fair number of such deals.
Otherwise, one place that comes to mind is Rimini, in Italy. Barcelona is another pretty classic recommendation, if you stay near the beach. (Disclaimer: I've been to neither.) Take a look at Ryanair and EasyJet and the other budget airlines and plug in some random destinations and dates, and see what you get.

Rimini will be just about full on (August is the manic/fun month) so lots of people and the beach is quite cool. Barcelona would also be a good choice - the beach(es) are out of town, but there are regular public busses if you want to stay in town.
But, if you've been to either of these, or they don't take your fancy, then Croatia would be the perfect choice. It's getting busier over Summer each year, but not unbearable as many people haven't re-discovered it since all the (political) changes. Anywhere along the coast or even the islands would suit your brief - I say go with that!

My money would be on a cheap package deal. Some of them really are great deals at the moment - a week's accommodation and a flight for £150ish. What about Turkey? It's cheap, good weather, within the time constraints and is a bit different, within reason of course (i.e. compared to Spain . Then there's Portugal. Lagos is pretty damn good (I'm off there in a couple of weeks for the 2nd year running). Only problem is that flights aren't that cheap - I'm flying into LIS from LHR with BA and it's costing around £150.

Ok gonna sound really dumb now - My friend also suggested Barcelona but I didn't know that there were beaches close by. It is on my hit list as well.
Oh but Portugal sounds nice as well. Just can't decide probably let the travel agent do the running for me. Only problem that I have is my nearest 'big' airport is Manchester and outside of the London airports the prices seem to be going up. Last year I got lucky and landed a flight from Newcastle.
I've done Turkey twice and loved it but want a change.
Leaning to Croatia I think - better get checking prices - will let you know.
Thanks for the suggestions :-)
