...other than dragging everything along for the whole day Right there..... ;D Plus, we don't know WHICH day we'll be hitting the castles. However, that's a cool thing to know for my next trip....

all the more reasn to pack light! but, i wonder if there would be lockers at the bus station. Füssen is in Germany. they *always* have lockers in Germany. (well, they used to always have lockers t the stations in Germany) You can take a bus, from Füssen to Innsbruck, so I don't see a big problem, other than dragging everything along for the whole day:

(well, they used to always have lockers t the stations in Germany) Can't help you on this one this time David - Pisa yes, Fuessen nope Haven't been through the train station in years, although I hear it's had a bit of an upgrade so I'm guessing too that there are lockers. Maybe ask at either Munich Haupbahnhof or the Munich Tourist Information before you leave, just in case they haven't got them and everything turns pear-shaped with the luggage. Doug, what hostels did you end up with?

Wombat's in Munich, Kranebitten Campsite in Innsbruck, B&B Rota in Venice, and Kabul in Barcelona. Heard good things of them all (ad things to, but mostly good). I'm ready to kick the kids out of my room and say 'Have a good Summer!' But alas...

the best thing about Kabul is its location. it's right off a main drag between Barcelona's harbor & city center, Las Rambla.
watch out for pickpockets there!
