I noticed someone post on these romeing tours, www.romeingtours.com, are they any good? Does anyone know any tour sites like this for other places in europe? I'm thinking that one of these tours would be a good idea, a nice organized way to see all the (popular) sites.

I haven't tried that company, but I did try three walks with Enjoy Rome and they were very good for each of them (Ancient Rome, Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto, and a tour of the Vatican). I've also heard 3 Millenia Tours is good. You can do all of these on your own, but a good tour guide (like an archeologist or art history expert) definitely helps.

Romeingtours are pretty good. They aren't your average tour (they don't have any archeologists/history experts ), instead they cater more to australian backpackers etc. The night tour/bar crawl is especially worth doing though.

Thanks for the feedback, I think I'm going to give it a try. I'll post my impressions when I get back.

I did the romeing in the dark tour and I really had a lot of fun! Is started off with a tour of the city in the evening with some history and interesting tidbits you wouldn't hear from any other guides! And then there is a pub crawl that same night. They also have day tours which I hear are very good. They cater to a young clientele.
Also I did the Mike's bike tour in Amsetrdam and it was great!! Seeing the city on a bicycle is really fun, you get to see the major attractions and go out in the coutryside. They also have one in Munich and Paris.
Brugges also offers some great bike tours! try one, you won't regret it!

I did the romeing in the dark tour and I really had a lot of fun! There's some dodgy photos of me on their website from that crawl (I did it 2 nights in a row). Still, it was a good laugh, although drinks were on the expensive side (3 for €10).

I never used Romeing Tours but have taken multiple Enjoy Rome tours and enjoyed them all. I think for the most part most of these tour companies are pretty much the same. A tour in Rome is always informative and enjoyable imo.

I have taken all the Rome(ing) Tours as well as other tours in Rome- I think walking tours are the way to go- and I found Rome(ing) Tours to be the most informative and just all around the far best of the lot.
