Below is my current itinerary. I was thinking of getting a eurorail flexipass for 10 or 15 travel days and then buying the plane tickets to replace what would be long train rides. Is this my best option?
May 2nd - Arrive in Paris 2nd - 7th in Paris (train to london) 8th - 12th in London (train to Paris) 12th-15th in Paris (train to Amsterdam) 15th-20th in Amsterdam (train to frankfurt) 21st-24th in Frankfurt (train to prague) 25th-30th in Prague (fly to florence) 31st - June 5th Florence (day trip to pisa) (train to rome) 6th - 11th Rome (fly to barcelona) 12th - 17th Barcelona (train to paris) 18th - 22nd Paris (fly home on 22nd).

At most, you have 5 travel days in 5 countries covered by rail pass. It's not valid in UK nor in Czech Republic. Selectpass or no-pass will be a better deal.

as i've posted elsewhere, i'd suggest taking some flights. www.whichbudget.com is a good place to find cheap flights listed. Flying on a budget takes advace planning. some folks are loath to commit to advance planning. regarding a rail pass: check out www.RailSaver.com and plug in your itenerary. it'll tell if rail pass(es) or point-to-point tix are better. my last few trips have been point-to-point. no reason to spend all that cash on a pass you don't need! - d

just wondering CowTown, why 3 stops in Paris? it'd make more sense to stay there a few extra days before going to London, then fly to Amsterdam from London. also, I found Mainz to be much more interesting than Frankfurt. as Nitsansh said said elsewhere, Berlin is more interesting than Frankfurt. are you married to this plan? i mean, are you flexible about it? - d May 2nd - Arrive in Paris 2nd - 7th in Paris (train to london) 8th - 12th in London (train to Paris) 12th-15th in Paris (train to Amsterdam) 15th-20th in Amsterdam (train to frankfurt) 21st-24th in Frankfurt (train to prague) 25th-30th in Prague (fly to florence) 31st - June 5th Florence (day trip to pisa) (train to rome) 6th - 11th Rome (fly to barcelona) 12th - 17th Barcelona (train to paris) 18th - 22nd Paris (fly home on 22nd).

My reason for so many trips to Paris is I have a friend there with an apartment, and I have two more friends flying there on the 10th. I considered the London-Amsterdam route, but then I wouldn't have any time to spend with my 2 friends comming on the 10th in Paris. As far as flexible, I am entirely flexible about the whole thing, except for the dates in Amsterdam... Edit: Looking at this more realistically, I think I'll move London to the end of my trip and bump everything up 4 days, that would: cut out an unecessary train ride, allow me to spend time in paris with my friends, and allow me to take the train to amsterdam with my friends. I don't know why i didn't think of this earlier. www.railsaver.com this website is awesome! Thanks so much.

you also might want to add a stop in Brugge. otherwise you'll have a long stay in Paris. or, do you have free digs there? is that why you're goning back so much?
