Simple question, yet I can't find the answer. I am heading to Europe in September. Do I need to buy a Eurail pass here or can I wait until I am in Europe. I know that I can buy an Interail after 6 months. I am just going to want to travel after about a month or two there and I want to know if there are any locations I can purchase it in Europe. Thanks

If you are not a 'European' you are not elgible for interrail...you need a Eurailpass and they MUST be purchased from outside Europe and bought before you go. They can not be bought once there.

you CAN NOT buy a eurail pass in Europe! once you're there, you might can buy some other, more expensive single country pass (but, non-europeans can not buy Interrail either) or point-to-point. for Euail purchace, you're sol in Europe.

I was under the impression that after being a resident of a european for six months one would be eligible to purchase an Inter-Rail pass. I will have a permenant address set up for one year.

if you do go with the eurail pass, I recommend checking out www.railsaver.com, it's too useful for words.

Hey I just read here about the eurrail passes, I was just checking up on it, looking for some information you know. But I see you can't buy it when you're ín Europe. I'd have to say, I have a problem. Because then that is not an option.. And what about the interrail pass? I see you wrote something about that as well.. What is that exactly? Maybe that openes an option for me.. Thanx, Mieke

miekje - Interrail is essentially the European equivalent of Eurrail. It's a better option than Eurrail as it's more flexible and covers more countries, although they are about the same price.

If you're interested check it out: www.interrailer.comabout all the information you need I think anyway I know this section has nothing to do with interrail but still, might be usefull bye, Mieke
