Hi all,
Thought some of you might like to hear about how my trip went. My boyfriend and I went backpacking for eight weeks over December 05 - Jan 06. While I was planning the trip, I visited GFE every single day :-D

Our intinerary was:
Days 1 - 7: London
7 - 9: Stayed with friends
9-11: Haworth, Yorkshire
11 - 14: Edinburgh
14 - 17: Macbackpackers Tour of the Isle of Skye. Awesome trip!
18 - 20: Dublin
20 - 23: Drove from Dublin - Cliffs of Moher - Galway - Connemmarra - Belfast
23 - 27: Stayed with relatives for Christmas in Co.Antrim
27 - 33: Paris! For NYE. It was freezing :-D
33 - 37: Stayed with a friend in Brittany
37 - 39: Avignon
39 - 41: Swiss Alps
41 - 45: Florence (with a day trip to Venice...we should have stayed in Venice longer, but Florence was fantastic)
45 - 47: Rome. Two days here was more than enough for me!!
47 - 49: Back in London then home to Sydney
It was a fantastic trip, no glitches. No long travel days really. But I am a bit strange, the train travel was one of my favourite parts - I loved sitting immobile listening to my iPod for hours on end, and I've travelled on a train in cattle class from Sydney to Darwin so I think I can handle train travel better than some others may!
Highlights: London walks in London (www.walks.com), Eating at an old pub in Haworth, the Isle of Skye tour, Paris Paris Paris Paris....and beautiful Florence. We were really lucky, apart from when we were in Paris, the weather was beautiful. And the yucky snow and rain just made Paris more magical.
I can't wait to go back, I'm thinking my next trip will involve Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, maybe Germany. So I will be a daily lurker here once more :-D
