Well thanks to a wonderful member who donated $15 to these boards (see link at bottom "Donate Money To Make This Board Ad-Free") and what I have chipped in, so far we haven't had to deal with the annoying pop-ups and banner ads that the free service deals with.
Right now, it's $1 for 1000 page views.
My question is: do we care about the banners/pop-ups or should I keep paying for it to be ad free...
I am willing to keep paying if you guys enjoy these boards being ad-free.
Opinions...please?

as we don't know just how intrusive these ads would be, it's hard to answer your question.
as i'm unemployed, can't contribute, anyway.

How much is it costing per year?
I would rather keep it ad free...even if we all have to kick in $5 or $10 (I just sent you $10).

First, thank you so much to Michele and others who have chipped in to keep these boards ad-free-I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.
I will do what I have to keep them that way-it really helps that you guys have chipped in, with not making money off the site and always just paying out-it gets difficult at times.
Once again, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all who have put money through PayPal for this (and to KauaiGirl who is sending $$$ to my house!!)-you guys are the absolute greatest.

Hey Kim!
God I cannot tell you just how much this pop-up crap bothers me. I have been crusing travel sites and discussion boards all day today and I just get barraged. I have no job and am just a lowly Psychology Major, but somehow I've scraped up the money to start following my dreams sooner rather than later and do some travelling already to Scotland (the country I am endlessly enamoured with, downright obsessed really!).
I recently paid $1350 for my plane ticket for my Spring Break holiday alone. I feel infinitely more charitable with my money when I know there's a place I can go and not have distracting ads in my face every page load so I can focus on the great advice to make all the money I have previously spent worth it! 8)
