Hi Guys!
Well, just curious, didn't want to post it elsewhere are it is travel related, but not so important, it's more conversational than anything.
I know most of you just sold everything and left, or drastic measures like that. Just wondering what happened when you got back? Where did you stay? How did you afford buying new stuff? Etc!
Thanks

The money from 'everything' I sold was right in my account....that was not the money I used to travel. So I simply bought another house and got my stuff out of storage. NOT what I intended to do....but my grand daughter seemed to have changed every plan I had.

I see!
It guess it's easier when you have a house in a certain way, cause you obviously won't use up the whole amount of the worth of your house.
But I want to travel again, obviously, and was thinking, why not sell everything and start over, but then again, what I have isn't old, but it isn't new either and it wouldn't make that much money, and then, buying it back new when I come back would cost a darn fortune. I guess it's not the best solution!

Jennifer, I've never done this so I don't know personally. However, I read this book recently and you might find some ideas interesting for what you are thinking about: www.vagabonding.net/I posted about the hostel in Utrecht that will give you 3 meals per day plus a bed in exchange for working there. But of course the disadvantage is that you wouldn't necessarily want to stay there that long, and you'll still have some day-to-day expenses also. But I'm sure there are other such places too - but you'd want to line them up before you left, obviously. (The Shelter hostels in Amsterdam seem to have similar plans too, although not advertised on their web site.)

Yup, i've heard of that, although I think it's great, it's not really the kind of travelling I want to have. I mean, i'm going to backpack, not to work! But i'll check that site out!
Thanks Will
