Dumb question...when you guys talk about using ATMs, do you mean taking money out to spend or using it as interac ?

Not a dumb questions at all.....I think most of us are talking about taking money out for daily expenses. I normally take $200 at a time....not too much cash on me and not so little that I am hitting the machine every day either. To use it as a 'credit card' transaction is not something I ever do....too easy to forget a charge and the conversion rate/transaction charge if any can mount up unexpectedly. I try to deal purely in cash from my pockets...helps me to keep track and stick to the budget.

Oh ok that makes sense. I guess I should have guessed it but I was weary. People were always saying to check for charges when using it and I figured if you used interac (if Europe has it and our card would work) then the price of those charges would be massive by the end lol.
Thanks for answering.
