My husband purchased some pounds and Euros currency this morning for our son and me on our upcoming trip. It makes him feel better and more secure, so I am indulging him . www.vbce.info/index.cfm?fuseaction=LocationsThe rates are almost exactly 2% over the interbank rate, which is better than all of our credit cards charge (although our ATM rate is close to the interbank rate). Any bank we have asked at seems to charge more in the range of 5%. So definitely shop around if you decide to do this. As mentioned before, it's difficult for Canadians to avoid a bank charge for ATM transactions ($3 CAD in my case), so we don't lose much if anything by getting a little money in advance at these rates. BUT - he made a slight error. He got 200 pounds, and we're only going to be in London for a total of 3 nights. Our hotel is already paid for. That's rather overbudget for what I was planning. I guess we now have a golden opportunity to spend more than planned. (I know we could change the pounds back when we get home for a few percent loss, but maybe I'll just go for the spending plan.)

I would do that one for sure if my time in London overlapped with the day the walk is offered. I have several other options for the days I am there, though. I fully intend to get at least one London Walk in!

You gotta love that! I would definately go with spending plan as well!
It will be fun kind of splurging - definately take in show. We saw 2 last time we were in London and I tell you, while we've seen tons in Vancouver, there is nothing like theater in London - it's magic!
