I think it depends on how much sight seeing and other activities that you have planned. Everything costs money...and it adds up fast. Definitely consider a week long carte orange (for metros and such). Everything is near a metro stop. There are also museum passes that might be worth your while. That's what...about $40 (US??) a day. It could work if you are not eating at restaurants and budgeting for specific sights.

That's about 35 Euros per day. As a bare minimum, I'd allot 10 Euros/day for food, but that's not really much and I'd prefer you had more. Transport is another expense that you can't avoid, at least to and from the airport. I agree a Carte Orange is a good idea. It's certainly possible to get along on that, but it will feel like skimping. What are your interests and what will they cost?

I plan to do a lot of walking around, and picture taking. I'm not leaving the Ile France area, so cross country trains/international trains are not important to me.
I was planning to buy a carte orange, that should take care of transportation. Maybe go once out to dinner at a nice place, not too expensive though.
I want to go to some museums, but I'm not sure how much the cost range is.

5 euros to 15 euros on most museums/sites. But with the Paris Viste pass and ISIC cards, you get deals almost everywhere ;D

Yep, that sounds about right.
For example, here are the prices to the Louvre:
Permanent collections and temporary exhibitions (Richelieu, Sully and Denon) 8,50 euros before 6pm, after 6pm 6 euros
The museum ticket also gives access to the Eugène-Delacroix Museum on the same day. The ticket is valid all day, re-entry is allowed. Temporary exhibitions at the hall Napoléon 8,50 euros Admission package 13 euros before 6pm , after 6pm 11 euros
Also, it's free on the first Sunday of every month if you can work around that.

There's also the Carte Musée, which is a 1-day, 3-day, or 5-day museum pass. It also allows you to bypass lines. I got the 3-day card for about 36 Euros and it barely paid for itself when I went to 2 museums per day, but it was nice to have a way to get to free washrooms!

I just looked and you are in serious luck:
Free admission at all times for youths under 18. (You will need ID)
And yes, the legal drinking age in France is 16.

Is $300 Canadian or US? Even so Paris is pretty pricy- if you're planning on drinking (even in a cheap bar a beer is over €3) you could do with a little more, especially if you want to see loads of museums and stuff as well.

It's $300 US.
I'm leaving tonight, and I've decided to bring $400 plus my credit card.
Like I said before, I'm doing a lot of sightseeing, picture taking, walking around. I'm going to a concert next week, museums, monuments, etc. And I'm going to check out the store, maybe I'll find something nice.
