Wondering if anyone has used the cash passport cards instead of taking their debit card. I was told they can be used in any machine with a visa logo and I can get more than one card linked to the same account in case one is lost or stolen. Also, they can be reloaded by just calling a 1-800 #. What I like most about these cards is that if it is lost or stolen no one can use it, rather if you use a debit card that has the visa logo and someone steals it etc. they can use the card to make purchases, but with the cash passport you can only use it for withdrawals out of an ATM, not to make purchases....or am I mistaken? anyway, is it a good idea to only bring cass passport cards, or should I bring my debit card and credit card as well? thanks

Do not rely solely upon something like that. Personally, I wouldn't even consider something like that- it sounds fairly complicated and I'd question how accepted it is.
Mastercard, Visa (credit and sometimes debit), Maestro/Cirrus and Amex are the way forward. Anything else (e.g. Discover, Diners club) is fairly risky in terms of acceptance.

Hi lynn, I actually used this while on my backpacking trip in May. I shared the account with 2 other friends so we can save on withdrawal fees. It is actually under Visa so any you can use them to get cash from any ATMs with the visa logo. I'm not too sure if you can use that to make purchases but we tried to use it to pay for our stay at a hostel and it failed. Best to check with the agent that issued the card. Well...I only brought that card plus a debit card as a backup
