Hi all. We are going for about 6 weeks, and I would like to know approximately how many Euro per day per person I should budget for. We already have our rail passes, so we would need money for:
- Accomodation (hostels) - Food - Sightseeing - Reservation fees ? - Anything else I have left out?
Also, how much (in Czech currency) per day for Prague?

Normaly I reserve about 50-60 euros a day. But ... of course it all depends on the places you go (London is expensive, a small place in Spain is a lot cheaper). Would you stay in a dorm, or do you want private rooms. You can save a lot on food, if you just go to the supermarket, and prepare a meal in the kitchen of your hostel. Dorms you can get as cheap as 12/13 euros in cheaper cities, but it can go up to 30 euros in places like London (esp. on fridays and saturdays). You can check a website like www.hostelworld.com to get an impression of the prices. Food, somewhere between 10 euro in cheap places to 25 in London. (ok, fish & chips will be cheaper, but I am talking a proper meal, something to drink).

In London, if you're travelling with a friend, you might want to invest in booking a room with Travelodge. They have 15 and 26 pound room rate for a double ensuite or family room ensuite. It doesn't come with breakfast but you get a nice clean basic room with privacy and it's usually close (or in some next, right next) to a train station or underground. The earlier, the better.
If you travel with a friend and you book a 15 pound room, that's about 30-ish dollars USD total and split the cost with your friend... you end up saving a lot of money!

I would use the hostel near the train station right across from the park. Very basic and used other than the summer by students as dorms. But should serve you well, and convienent to the trolley a the corner, or a short walk to the center of town. WT
