Hey there, Im going to be in europe high season this year for 3 mths...so far i have saved up 25,000 aud. Should this be enough?? I have paid for my airfare, insurance, eurrail and britrail. I will also be staying at hostels in dorm rooms, only because it will be easier to meet peopple that way. I shall be travelling solo. The countrys i am visitng are Czech Republic, Austria, germany, holland, scotland, england, france, spain, italy and greece. I will be spending 19 days in the uk and 21 days in Italy. I know venice and paris and london will be expensive but i plan to cook my own food ect. I also plan to party at least one night in each city, and yes dammit im a smoker So does the above amount seem to be enough??? Thanks in advance

That's about 163 euros a day. That's more than enough, so don't worry, when you return you should have some money to left for the next trip.
Depending on the coutry/city and what attractions you want to see, you will need anywhere between 40 and 80 euros a day. If you stay in dorms, and cook your own food, I think you will end up on an average of 50-60. (not including extra travel, like boattrips, p2p-tickets for daytrips etc)

Hey thanks for your reply..you have nothing but good news for me I can now feel alright about having a few drinks here and there as well lol You could even take it a step further and buy somebody a drink On a serious note, you have nothing to worry about, with that kind of money, just make sure, that you can access the money from your account.

annisha, that seems like more than adequate funding for a three month trip!
One thing that occurred to me is that you might want to keep your travel funds in two or more accounts, in case you have problems with your primary ATM card. Having the ability to transfer between accounts (via phone or whatever) is another benefit.
Happy travels!!!

If it is hostels you want then as others have said you will have plenty. This is a pretty decent budget so But one thing you said you've already paid for some of the stuff (flights, insurance etc) - how much have you paid, and how much from the 25k have you got left - might help people to answer for sure. What do you mean by a "party night" there is obviously a large spectrum and this could mean different things to different people, especially in the cities you'll be visiting. Depending on how much you have left you might also be able to go visit an island or something, who knows, sky is the limit if you want to spend money in europe there are plenty of people here who will take it off your hands for you.

I agree that it's plenty for a really nice trip, and I'd also suggest saving some for later.
But many people would find it very easy to burn off all that money by booking 100-Euro hotel rooms, eating 50-Euro dinners, drinking 25-Euro cocktails, etc. None of these are necessary, but a lot of people seem to end up doing it!
