Hi everyone,
Im going travelling for 7 weeks starting may 2nd and finishing june 21st.
I have saved up £3000 and was wondering whether this was enough i have already got my rail pass and flight to and from europe so all im budgeting for is:
Hostels Food Attractions Reservations (if anyones got any info on how much these roughly are going to cost that would be great) Partying (if iv got enough)
The countrys im going to are: Amsterdam, brussels, paris, madrid, barcelona, monaco, rome, lubjuana, prague, budapest, bratislava...... and any other we decide to stop off at (i know it seems alot)
Do you think i have enough or should i hammer the overtime at my job for the last four weeks before i go, to get some more?
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy,
If it's really English Pounds you are talking about it should be around 120 euros a day. That should be more then enough. (Unless you decide to put risk everything on a roulettetable in Monaco ;D)

Hi Andy, thanks for the PM, but I will answer here, so the rest will be able to follow it. I got to 120 euros, because I made a mistake. (I divided thru 35 instead of 49). I guess I am think to much in 5 day work weeks, that I somewhere lose the other 2 days, that are the best days of the week ... the weekend. (for 3000 pounds, I multiplied it with 1,5 which is more or less approx.) 90 euros, would still be ok. As you have a mixture between cheap and more expensive places. I usualy budget in the following way: room/breakfast: 20 euros (dorm) attractions: 15-20 euros public transport (metro pass) 4-6 euros dinner: 10-20 euros Some days, you will have more costs, when you go to a bar, or a gig, a festival or whatever, but that's not daily. Drinks for during the day, I usualy buy at the supermarket (sometimes, I take a tea with something to eat somewhere, but I try to avoid it, as it in a sneaky way eats away my budget). In a lot of hostels you can cook you own dinner, which can save you a lot of money. Be aware of that, when you book the hostels, as you want to know for sure, if you choice, offers the use of the kitchen. Some days you will need traintickets/bustickets for a daytrip (those vary a lot in price), I don't budget them, but I am aware that I will make those costs. I also budget some money for the carpark at the airport (I am doing a lot of smaller trips, and the rate parking lots at airports ask are better compare to robbery imo) 90 euros, will not give you the royal treatment 120 euros would do, but with the railpass, and a ticket already covered, it will not provide real worries. (just don't bet everything on a Ace, and a low kicker)

Dude, you're rolling on gold, if you're smart, you can even eat out a little more luxuriously once in a while if you transportation is paid for!

That's a lot of money and I'm pretty positive it will cover everything and give you quite a bit of spending money as well!
