Hey Everyone! My friend and I will be backpacking for the first time in Europe. We will be there for approximately 19 days and I will be catching a tour after our backpacking excursion. I was wondering how much I should budget for the following Itinerary: All During Month of September: 7: Fly into London at Noon 8: London 9: London 10: Travel From London to Paris 11: Paris 12: Paris 13: Paris 14: Travel to Barcelona 15: Barcelona 16: Barcelona 17: Barcelona 18: Travel to Rome 19: Rome 20: Rome 21: Rome 22: Rome 23: Travel to Paris 24: Travel to London 25: Last Day in London 26: My friend leaves for the states and I start my tour in the evening. I have already paid for my flight, tour and will have paid for the flights from Paris --> Barcelona; Barcelona --> Rome and Rome --> London and the eurostar from London --> Paris. Thanks!

I am doing just about the exact same cities for my trip and I am basing it on 100 a day...40 for food, 40 for hostels, 20 for sights and transportation within the cities.
Thats just me I dont know if that fits what your plans are.

I tend to budget $100 a day although some days it ends up being $50 because I'm in a cheap place (i.e. Greece) and some days, I up the budget to $130 if I'm in an expensive city.
The UK and Italy (and Paris) tend to be expensive so make sure you have reserve $$$.

100 US dollars...I have figured out that the Hostels I will be staying in cost about 40 US dollars a day (like +/- 25 Euros a day)...then about 40 for food then 20 for in city transportation and costs of sights. I know that London is going to be a little more expenisve but then again many of the museums are free so maybe it will even out.

Right now, with exchange rates and currency markup, say that is about 60 Euros or 50 pounds. It's possible to do this, but you'll have to keep a good eye on what is happening. In London, you'll save a huge amount by visiting grocery stores rather than going to sit-down restaurants. Here's a cheap place, though, where you can fill up on all-you-can-eat fairly good Indian food (for about 3 pounds): Indian Vegetarian Bhelpuri House at 92 Chapel Market (near the Angel tube)
