anyone know where i can find cheap couple accom. in the dordogne region? wanting to see the cave paintings etc for a week, any suggestions?

are those cave paintings still open to the public? surely the french have limited access, to preserve them for future study!
a bunch of folks just breathing on them will make them deteriorate!

Don't know about accomodation..............
BUT the caves themselves have been closed to the public for quite sometime. What they have done is recreated two portions of the original caves in another cave. Those are the ones that tourists are allowed to visit.
