32 Days Eurotrip for April 2011

Hi! I will be going next year to Europe for 32 days in the months of April to early May. Here's my itinerary as of now.

These are all the cities I would love to see so I wouldn't be able to bear dropping one of them! LOL ;D

Day 1: Flight to Amsterdam. Overnight Amsterdam.
Day 2: Amsterdam. Overnight Amsterdam.
Day 3: Train to Bacharach. Overnight Bacharach.
Day 4: Bacharach. Overnight Bacharach.
Day 5: Train to Fussen. Overnight Fussen.
Day 6: Fussen (Castles). Night Train.
Day 7: Berlin. Overnight Berlin.
Day 8: Berlin. Overnight Berlin.
Day 9: Berlin. Overnight Berlin.
Day 10: Train to Prague. Overnight Prague.
Day 11: Prague. Overnight Prague.
Day 12: Prague. Night Train.
Day 13: Vienna. Overnight Vienna.
Day 14: Vienna. Overnight Vienna.
Day 15: Vienna. Night Train.
Day 16: Gimmelwald. Overnight Gimmelwald.
Day 17: Gimmelwald. Overnight Gimmelwald.
Day 18: Gimmelwald. Overnight Gimmelwald.
Day 19: Train to Venice. Overnight Venice.
Day 20: Venice. Overnight Venice.
Day 21: Venice. Night Train.

I have been reading Rick Steves books ETBD and Best of Europe and it really has helped me a lot. I also found the Deutsche Bahn website so helpful in planning my route and finding out train times.

Please help me by giving opinions about my itinerary. Thanks in advance!

Well I guess everybody is silent, but this looks really good, so not a lot to change here I guess. The only part I would have a look at is, if it would pay (timewise) to swap Gimmelwald, before Füssen, and go straight to Italy from Vienna.

Also you might consider a stop in Dresden on the way to Prague. If you leave Berlin early, you can spend a few hours in Dresden, and still arrive in Prague the same day.

On my familytravels to Austria (from the Netherlands) we always passed Bacharach, but I only know it from the shields above the Autobahn. Always wondered how the place would be, and if it is just 10% as beautiful as the music from Burt Bacharach it will be worthwhile.

One more thing, and it really depends on where you are flying from and the times, but you have one whole day in Amsterdam, as it is not big I normaly consider this to be enough, especially if you have a half day when you arrive, but consider that you might have a jetlag, so you might want/need a day more to adjust to European time.
