Eagle,
Thanks for looking into all that for me, I really appreciate it. I ended up walking into a camera shop to get an expert opinion and walked out with a canon powershot a1000 IS. Its AA supported, which I ended up buying some lithium AAs. I still have to upload some photos to see how they look, but at the moment I don't like the camera. I bought it cause it was AA based , canon (which everyone seems to recommend), and had what I wanted, or so I thought. In the end, I think I'm more picky than I had planned for. I don't like the menu scree, couldn't figure out how to get black and white immediately, and am worried about the exterior manually moving scene selection rotory as a friend once got some sand caught there and it put an end to usuage on that trip. But...I'm going to work with it some more before I decide, I've got 14 days to return. Thanks again!

Hey everybody,
I'm looking for a little advice from anyone who wants to help. As the title states my troubles revolve around the battery issue. I should probably give a little background info. I'm coming from the US and either heading towards Korea &/or South east Asia, or over to South Africa. I've already got this huge Kodak that proved to be a problem in south africa as it turned me into a walking target for crime...so I've decided to go for a compact instead.
I've mainly been looking at the Nikon Coolpix s550 and the fuji z100 FD...leaning towards the Nikon (any advice on this is also appreciated!). Both seem to be perfect for me till I started to think about power issues as both cameras require recharging the battery. I had to do this before in S. Africa, but it was no problem as I was permanently located somewhere. Now I'm talking about moving around and worried about carrying gear and weight. I understand I can get one of those small plug adapters, but do they even deal with the differences in voltage (i'm no electric engineer!), and is it worth it?
Otherwise, I could go for a camera that packs AA's (I was looking at a Panasonic Luminex, suggestions are welcome!). I'm not too worried about the batteries running out as I turn off my cam a lot and you can buy them almost anywhere. However, most of the camera's I prefer don't use AA's, not to mention there is the increased pollution issues which definitely have some weight in my mind.
So, any advice, recommendations, rants or raves? I appreciate it all, thanks for reading. Be well, have fun, keep it crazy!

Looking for a little advice here as a plan my trip. Question: I land at Frankfurt International on March 21st (a wednesday) at 5 pm......I wondering if it will be possible to get over to the Frankfurt Hann airport and get in on time to board a flight that leaves at 8pm that same day....Its my first time traveling so I'm not really sure how long it will take me to get out and into customs in Frankfurt. My other option is to wait till Saturday the 24th to fly out again. I don't really want to stay in Frankfurt, but would rather stay and check out the city for a few days instead of missing my first flight upon arriving in Europe. Any advice is appreciated, thanks for your time!

So.....I'm on my puter, booking tickets with Ryanair. I go through the whole process and finally click the final purchase button....up comes the screen that says give us patience (I think up to 45seconds)...so I wait. Not sure how long, but eventually instead of recieving a confirmation page I get one that says our database is too busy or we may be having some other problems. It recommends trying back later, or starting the search over again. I tried starting over but just recieved the same "too busy" page. No big deal, I just take care of some other stuff for a bit. So I eventually go back, do the search, find the same flight, same price, etc.....book it, everything goes fine, get the confirmation page. ..
But just now I have checked my email to see that I was billed seperatly for two tickets on the same flight for the same passenger. I tooled around the website and couldn't find an email address to write, only phone numbers which I'm planning on calling tomorrow (their time, I'm in the Eastern US), although I'm not sure which country to call or even if it'll even be the right department.
I'd like to get rid of the ticket all togeather, but I'm guessing since they seem shady on even contacting them that the likelihood is low....Anyone know if maybe a credit would be offered? Or just info on the correct way to handle this would be appreciated.
Thanks for your reading time! Hope everyone is enjoying life, even in spight of little difficulties like the above! Take Care

Tried searching, came up with nothing, but I'm sure its there somewhere & I'm just using the wrong search words....if anyone could put up a link it'd be much appreciated
Basically I'm using Ryanair a good amount. I saw that there are additional charges for checking bags. No big deal, but I was talking with someone who said when she when a year and half ago they just got right onto the plane with their backpacks. Just wanted to know if this is possible, and if not should I pay for the pack check when I'm booking, or at the airport. Oh, and one more (the nice people here have been very helpful, so I'll just keep inquiring), insurance for bagage....necessary? & it asked my country of residence when looking at the booking...which is the US, they didn't list it, so does that mean I'm out???
As always, any and all info is appreciated. Take care and enjoy your travels!

I'm going to Europe shortly for three months with no particular plans. Basically I'm a dj from detroit whose really into techno (more specifically then generally). I'm flying into Frankfurt, eventually planning to settle into Berlin, but I'm gonna travel for a bit and I'm trying to figure out where to hit for good music. Since I'm coming from the dirty D I'm not set on finding super clubs, but more looking for quality artists and music. Right now I'm looking into Stockholm, Paris, Spain (though I'm not sure where), and possibly Amsterdam, although I've already been. Kinda trying to skirt around the UK for financial reasons, but totally open to suggestions. I also know I'm for sure that I'll be stopping in Bremen and Munich for a bit. Any information, tips, suggestions, or just good tidings are very much appreciated. I hope all who find this are doing well and enjoying life to the fullest!
