I'm leaning towards the new Rebel XSI, just cause it's lighter and is comparable... There are some great lens + frame kits out there. I'm going tomorrow to my photo shop to really check them out and compare!

hey ive been looking into the reviews between mostly Canon XSi and Nikon D80 D90s, as they are those mostly within my budget.
It seems all sites have different options. I dont quite know right now but hey ill keep looking
one thing you might be able to help me with eagle, you can shoot in jpg or raw. Whats the difference? some cameras say the raw is better as jpg. what difference does it make once the photo is shot? i couldnt find a good answer for this
thanks

Hey there!
Well, after great services with my S3 IS, I wanna switch to a professional camera. I want to be able to play with zooms and lenses.
I would love the best of the best, but sadly, budget doesn't allow. I am in no rush to buy, I want to start looking around, see what's on the market.
Any ideas?

See i was thinking of a car rental for the "off the beaten track part". I sure wouldn't drive it in the city! Guaranteed! I wouldn't rent it for the whole time either. Maybe you know a trusted agency? Here is what we,ve thought of so far : AVION Rome Rome Rome Rome Siena Siena Firenze Firenze Firenze Firenze Pisa Cinque Terre Cinque Terre Venezia Venezia Venezia Venezia And we have about 5 days left where it would be great to roam around eating and drinking in Tuscany or so... That's where my tour/class/car rental cuts in! I'm basically flexible! Thanks for the tips about the zones, didn't know, but if I do rent a car I will sure read up, no worries, don't want to get scammed. And I will get an international license. As for Orvieto, yes, it's on my list of maybes I think of you everytime I see the name! Thanks guys

madamtrashheap you're a bible!
I haven't checked planes out yet as dates aren't set, but we were thinking rome and upwards to venice, so the dates don't quite work out
maybe the opposite would be best...

Hi! Yes Willtravel, with my mom, why? Basically, being with someone older makes no difference on our budget. My mom wants to backpack Ideally, I would like a double room near center of town or right next to a subway or bus. Thing is, this doesn't seem to exist in Bologna... Eagle, i'll check that out, maybe that's it

Hey guys! I'll be travelling to Italy with my modern mom and have a few days that kind of don't fit in...
I'd love to see more of Chianti, Tuscany and the region. Is it best to rent a car? It seems as tours and cooking classes are really expensive.
Have i just not been looking in the right place? Do you have references?

Hi there! I,ve been reading for my upcoming (well... september) Italy trip and I've seen that september is not the high season yet.
BUT : in my LP guidebook it says july august is high season but on the Bologna page, it says hostels fill up in Bologna for september high season.
Any particular reason?
Is september really really touristy?
