Hi Kim, thanks for replying my email. I Hope you dont mind that I posted your answer cos I think it might benefit others.
Q: I would like to ask, did you go to cyber cafes to send emails back home? How much did the cyber cafes cost? I read that libraries have free Internet access. I am looking for an economical way to communicate with my family back home, and I am wondering if email is cheaper than phoning home. where can I find cheap/free internet access?
A: Sending emails is definately cheaper than phoning. We emailed quite a bit and only called occasionally.
The cheapest internet cafes are the EasyEverything cafes. They are only in the big cities though, like London and Amsterdam. Some libraries do offer free internet but it's often a pain-the libraries are far out, or you have to register a day in advance etc. Better just to go to an internet cafe unless you stumble on a library.
We would shop around for cyber cafes since there is so many in Europe. While out for the day, we would check the prices for a bunch and go back later to the cheapest one.
Hope this helps!
Kim
