HELP...How can i get involved

Hi all...

I'm an 18yr old Australian who has landed in the UK. At present my situation is looking really down .
My life consists of going to work at a dumb supermarket, coming home and going to sleep and that's it ...(I'm really bored and lonely).

I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a website/club or anything that could help me get involved/in contact with a group of people who are travelling around Europe or making a trip (ie. to France or whatever) and wouldn't mind if a stranger joined them.

Perhaps I'm being silly and this is a stupid question. But i seriously want to travel and I don't want to go by myself.

What I would suggest is dropping by the local hostels-they often have pubs and they are a great place to meet people.

Another idea is to volunteer at a hostel-this way you will get to meet people who are travelling and it's alot of fun. I have worked at a hostel as well as volunteered at another and you meet a ton of people.

Not sure where you are in the UK but there are definately many hostels to choose from. You want to go for the independent hostels though, rather than the YHA's as they will be more open to volunteers etc.
