Japan/Tokyo Hostel

My friend and I are Tokyo for 3 days,  this is our first time to Tokyo and we need help to find a hostel or cheap hotel in tokyo.  Anyone can recomend me?  We are girl; our first priority is safety.  Also, does anyone knows any wood-framed room hostel?

You probably won't find much in the way of info here as these boards concentrate on travel in Europe.

as they have boards for other parts of the world.

the 1st hostel i ever stayed in was tokyo's yoyogi youth hostel.  but that was decades ago.  it might not even be open anymore.  it wasn't in very good shape, it was in the old olympic village.  i think it was an old athlete's dorm.
