just curious - what are the hazards if any of your film passing through x-ray machines at the airports?

I had the same fear, after all film is one of the most precious forms of souvenirs. I couldn't stand losing any film, so I even carried it with me in my daypack. After having it x-rayed at both the Vatican and the Fiumicino Airport in Rome, they turned out to be perfectly fine.
Maybe it depends on where you're going, but I think an airport in any developed country would be okay.

That is my biggest fear as well - I keep mine in an X-Ray proof pouch when I travel. It's a good way of keeping the used and unused film separated as well!
I think you are OK at most airports too, but I used the pouch just in case.

52 rolls...in either backpack or day pack....not a single problem And I had no pouch or other protection. Maybe I was lucky, but I've traveled a good deal and have never had a single picture damaged by xray machines. I tend to lean towards the, maybe naive, group who believes what they say about these machines not damaging your film. And so far......it hasn't.

There's no risk from X-ray machines to your films in Europe or any developed country. My films went through x-ray many times and were not damaged. As far as I know, x-rays are totally different rays from light rays to which films are sensitive.
